Look who's talking...

“Italian at its best”

This is quite simply the best Italian restaurant in the Tri-Cities. It is located in a restored train dining car and offers a quiet and fun atmosphere. The veal dishes are always excellent, and the fettucine alla romanna with Italian sausage is one of the best dishes I’ve had anywhere. Monterosso's offers an excellent selection of wines, and the staff is always cheerful and willing to help match wines to your meal selections. While the restaurant is a little difficult to find on your first try (it sits behind another restaurant a bit off of the city street) once you dine at Monterosso's you are sure to want to return regularly.   ~ Dale J. - West Richland, WA

Worth the "Train Ride"

Pullman car diners never had it so good. Aaron Burks and his hard-working crew dazzle - fine cuisine with an excellent focus on a unique variety of wines - adding to the charming ambience of a railroad dining car that moves at the same speed as the earth's rotation. Definitely worth trying - and for many of us - worth checking out the recurring (every other) Tuesday wine-tasting event. The seasonal special wine-pairings (multi courses or with appetizers) are also a treat that we look forward to.    ~ Tom D. - Washington State

I have lived in the Tri-Cities for all of my life but just never tried Monterosso's. Shame on me. We ate there tonight and loved it. The food was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ambiance is the best part. It is in a lovely old Pullman dining car. I kept looking around and just thinking...Wow! It doesn't seem cramped at all. Soft music plays and it is quiet. What a gem! Note: Try the Chicken Venetian. It is sooooo good.   ~ Scott E.

Loved the salad, appetizers, and food! Service and environment was great! Perfect for a date night!

Am I dumb to pretend I'm Cary Grant in North By Northwest, or Daniel Craig in Casino Royale when I go here?  I can't help it.  This is an Italian restaurant....and it's in a train car!  I'm a total sucker for trains, and I like pretending to be a suave leading man dining on a train in a movie when I go here.  I've always had nice dining experiences here.  I went for the house special which was a chicken marsala dish.  It was delectable, and the flavors were unique and mouth watering. Our server was peppy, helpful, and attentive. Even though this establishment is different, set away from the road, and a little kitschy---it is a Richland treasure.  ~ Corey G. - Richland, WA

After years of dining here, it is still our favorite restaurant in the Tri-Cities. The chef has the ability to be creative, making the specials extremely delightful and varied. Never has the thought crossed my mind, "the menu is boring". I do have my favorites, but when I feel like changing it up, the special has never disappointed me. The dining experience is as much of the attraction as the food. This is not the "chain restaurant" thing, the staff really do care that you are having the best experience possible. They don't try to hurry you through the place. If you've not been to Monterosso's recently, give it a try. I've been going to "the train" since it was a taylor shop. However, the last couple of years prove to me that they are reaching new heights in quality and service.  ~ Ryan H. - Washington State

“Private gathering was spectacular!”

We had a group event that was hosted at this wonderful restaurant. It involved 7 small plates and wine pairings. Having spent the day before tasting at several other wineries, I was surprised that each and every wine we were served was better than all of those others! Fabulous food! I almost can't decide which food I liked the most, the crab cake, the duck, the ravioli, the asparagus, the meatball, the buffalo, or the Panna Cotta. Every bite of every offering was beyond expectations, and almost too good to believe! The restaurant is inside a vintage train car that is beautifully decorated. You feel like you have been transported to another place in time! It was the best!

“The best”

Set in a former railway dining car, you cannot beat the atmosphere/setting. The food and wine are first rate as well.

“Nice food, great people, beautiful atmosphere”

My girlfriends brought me here from out of town for my birthday dinner. We had a late night reservation, and the staff really went out of their way to make it a special occasion. The food was nice and even more importantly, the service was excellent. The chef and the waitress both came out to present our food and wish me a happy birthday. Can't wait to go back!  ~ gg p - Washington State

“Great Italian dining experience”

Love this place! The food and service have been excellent each time we visit this quaint little place. The homemade soups are amazing, as is the walnut tortellini. The prices are very fair, especially for the Tri-City area. They have a nice wine selection, and we have enjoyed their wine tasting on Tuesday evenings. Highly recommend this restaurant.    ~ Valsignadmor - Minnesota

“Favorite Italian spot in Richland”

Monterosso's is one of my favorite spots in Richland. Great food, friendly staff, great wines and occasional wine tasting. Tuesday nights they do wine tasting which has always yielded a selection for the evening. It is a small, intimate place. Great for couples or groups up to (6). I have never been disappointed, nor have my guests.

 ~ Gordon H. - Kirkland, WA

“Consistently good”

My companion and I always enjoy visiting Monterosso's. Intimate, even romantic setting in a railcar restaurant. Service has always been prompt, prices are reasonable, food consistently good. Highly recommended. I've always been lucky on getting seated without a reservation.  ~ Ajtlawyer - Richland, WA

My fav place to go with my hubby on a date! Great food and locally owned. We need more places like this in Tri-cities.

~ Klynnredd

“Literally a hidden gem...”

The restaurant is in a train car off the main drag, so it is a little hidden behind another building. We ate here last night and the food and service were excellent. The owner was doing wine tastings at the table, Spanish wines from various small vineyards, which was a nice touch. Both of our salads and entrees were excellent, and the company around us seemed to enjoy their food and atmosphere as much as we did. Price was commensurate with the menu and quality. Definitely would recommend to anyone.  ~ BlueCat20 - Omaha, NE

I ask my Hubby to take me there for our special nights and we both love it. Highly recommend it for the exceptional service, atmosphere and of course the stellar food. I always try something I've never had before and I'm never disappointed! ~ bellelicious
